Birth of Prophet Yaqub (A.S.) and his Brother
The Prophet Ishaq (A.S.) and his wife Rifka had two twin sons named Ees (Also known as Esau in Hebrew) and Yaqub (A.S.), Prophet Yaqub (A.S.) was a more beloved son of his father than Ees. For that reason, Ees envied his brother a lot.

His envy feeling grew more over time and turned harmful. When Allah (s.w.t) selected Yaqub (A.S.) as a prophet, Ees turned so enraged that he threatened his brother to kill him. So, Yaqub (A.S.) decided to flee.

He then discovered a spot to relax and positioned a stone beneath his head. He dreamt about a staircase that was going from the Earth to Heaven with angels coming down to tell him that his future generation would be from this land. He became happy when he woke up, he promised Allah (s.w.t) that if he returned to his household, he would develop a mosque and donate a portion of his property. Earlier before leaving the place, which was Jerusalem (Bayt al-Maqdis), he positioned some oil on the stone so that he might recognize it later.

He then married 2 sisters named Leah and Raheel, they were daughters of his uncle Laban. Prophet Yaqub (A.S.) had two sons along with his youngest spouse Raheel, his son’s names were Yousef (Joseph) and Benyamin (Benjamin). After the beginning of the latter, the second spouse died and the first one was pregnant.

His uncle Leban also gave 2 salves to his wives, To Leah he gave Zilfa, and to Raheel, he gave Bilha.

When Yaqub (A.S.) requested his brother to befriend him, the latter refused, and instead, he hired men to chase him. Yaqub (A.S.) requested Allah (s.w.t) to stop his brother’s bad deeds.

Ees was impressed and humbled himself to make peace with Prophet Yaqub (A.S.). Both brothers had united again. They both went to their father’s place, which might be the place prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) used to live.

At the age of 180 years, their father Prophet Ishaq (A.S.) passed away of sickness and was buried close to their grandfather, Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.). Then, Prophet Yaqub (A.S.) fulfilled his promise and built a mosque in Jerusalem the place where he positioned oil on the stone, which later was expanded by Prophet Suleiman (A.S.).
